Equestrian Wins Three Blue Ribbons at Salve Regina Show

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Senior Renee Seto and freshmen Daphne Maniatis and Jonna Batten all earned blue ribbons as Brown University equestrian competed at the Salve Regina IHSA Show in its spring season debut on Saturday at Sandy Point Stables.

Competing in their seventh show of the year and first show of the spring, the Bears totaled seven top-three finishes.

Seto (Barrington, R.I.) took first place in intermediate fences, Maniatis (Chevy Chase, Md.) gained first in novice flat, and Batten (Sacramento, Calif.) captured first in pre-novice flat.

Junior Hannah Woolley (Medfield, Mass.) placed third in open fences and fourth in open flat while sophomore Elena Newman (Gainesville, Fla.) came in third in limit flat and also competed in limit fences.

Alongside Newman in limit flat, senior Rebecca Lee (Guilford, Conn.) came in third place, and senior Cate Marchetti (Hanover, Mass.) finished in fifth.

In pre-novice flat, senior Sophie Starck (New York, N.Y.) came in fourth to support Batten's blue ribbon while junior Lauren Reischer (New York, N.Y.) also represented the Bears.

In introductory flat, junior Audrey Kim (Bronxville, N.Y.) came in third, freshman Alix Hamon (Sandia Park, N.M.) placed fourth, and sophomore Elise Solazzo (Hoover, Ala.) also represented Brown.

Next, Brown will compete at the University of Rhode Island IHSA Show on Saturday, March 14 at Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Gales Ferry, Conn.
