James Perry Football Coaches Show Debuts On September 19

Providence, RI - The inaugural James Perry Football Coaches Show will debut on Thursday, September 19, at Hope Street Pizza, with Brown's first-year head football coach James Perry analyzing the upcoming season and commenting on Brown's opening game at Bryant on Saturday.Â

Scott Cordischi, the voice of Brown football, will host the show each Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm throughout the season at Hope Street Pizza, located at 720 Hope Street on the East Side of Providence.  The show will be broadcast on WPRV-AM 790 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm and on Facebook Live.  Fans are invited to attend the show each week and meet the Brown coaches and players.

Perry has returned to his alma mater to lead the Brown football program.  He's been able to find success throughout his career, posting a 23-7 record as a three-year starter at quarterback at Brown and throwing for an Ivy League record 9,294 career yards. He led the Bears to their first Ivy title in 28 years (1999), while being named the Ivy League Player of the Year and Bulger Lowe Award winner as the outstanding player in New England. As the quarterbacks coach at Brown, Perry earned an Ivy Championship ring in 2008. He also won Ivy League titles as Offensive Coordinator at Princeton in 2013 and 2016. He comes to Brown from Bryant where he was the head coach for the last two years.

Brown's football team opens its season this Saturday, September 21 at 3:00 pm against Bryant in Smithfield, R.I. The Bears move on to Ivy League play in Week 2 of the season, traveling to Boston to battle Harvard on Friday evening, September 27.  Brown makes its home debut on Saturday, October 5 against Rhode Island in the 104thplaying of the Governor's Cup.
