Volleyball Announces 24-Match Schedule for 2019 Fall Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University volleyball will compete in 24 matches, including three pre-conference tournaments and 14 Ivy League contests, as part of its 2019 schedule, head coach Ahen Kim announced on Wednesday.

The Bears will open their season with a match on Sept. 6, take a trip to the state of Georgia in September, host eight matches at the Pizzitola Sports Center beginning with North Dakota on Sept. 8, and play in 14 consecutive Ivy League matches to conclude the season.

Brown begins the season at the New Hampshire Tournament from Sept. 6-7 with matches against Seattle (Sept. 6), host New Hampshire (Sept. 7), and Holy Cross (Sept. 7).

Bruno concludes its first weekend with its home opener against North Dakota on Sunday, Sept. 8 at noon.

In its second weekend of play, the Bears compete at the Friar Classic, facing Coppin State (Sept. 13), Fairleigh Dickinson (Sept. 14), and host Providence College (Sept. 14). Brown remains in the Ocean State to play at Bryant on Sept. 17.

Brown makes its longest trip of the year when it plays in the Georgia State Tournament in Atlanta, Ga., squaring off with Northwestern State (Sept. 21) and host Georgia State (Sept. 22).

The Bears commence Ivy League play at Yale (Sept. 28) before hosting its first back-to-back conference weekend against Dartmouth (Oct. 4) and Harvard (Oct. 5). In its first road back-to-back league weekend, the Bears travel to Penn (Oct. 11) and Princeton (Oct. 12).

Brown then plays three straight Ivy home contests, entertaining Cornell (Oct. 18), Columbia (Oct. 19), and Yale (Oct. 26). Following that home stretch, the Bears embark on a four-game road swing with matches at Harvard (Nov. 1), Dartmouth (Nov. 2), Columbia (Nov. 8), and Cornell (Nov. 9).

Brown closes its regular season with home contests against Princeton (Nov. 15) and Penn (Nov. 16), marking the final home matches for the Bears' Class of 2020.
