
Women’s Water Polo’s Perez Earns ACWPC All-America Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's water polo sophomore attacker Carissa Perez has earned Honorable Mention ACWPC All-America accolades, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced on Thursday.
A native of Pico Rivera, Calif., Perez gained Second Team CWPA All-Tournament honors after posting 17 points on six goals and 11 assists at the conference tournament. She won Player of the Game honors after notching three goals and four assists vs. St. Francis (Pa.) at the CWPA Championship.
For the season, Perez led the team in assists (59) and ranked third on the team in goals (33) and steals (32). She scored two or more goals in each of seven games and dished out two or more assists in each of 17 games. She won CWPA Player of the Week on Feb. 27.
Perez helped lead the Bears to 21 wins on the year as Brown posted its fourth 20-win season in the last six years and seventh 20-win campaign during head coach Felix Mercado's 12 seasons with the program.
