Throughout the month of March, Brown Athletics will celebrate Women's History Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize women who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.

Ginny Tom Lee '88 became the second player in Brown volleyball history to earn First Team All-Ivy honors (1984) and was Brown's first three-time First Team All-Ivy selection. She earned induction into the Brown Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004, becoming only the second volleyball player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Lee served as co-captain of the Bears her senior year and earned the Susan Clover Rosenberger Prize in 1988 for academic excellence in athletics. She gained a spot on the Ivy League Silver Anniversary Volleyball Team in 1999. Lee graduated with honors from Brown with a dual major in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior and Management. She went on to get her MBA from Stanford. Staying involved in the game, Lee played in the North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament for 15 years, traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Lee currently acts as President & COO of Khan Academy, a personalized learning resource for all ages whose mission is to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Prior to Khan Academy, she was a CEO in Residence at Alpine Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm based in San Francisco, and before Alpine Partners, she served as a senior vice president and general manager of Intuit's Employee Management Solutions division.
