
Mosenthal, Butterbrodt Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's lacrosse sophomore attack Risa Mosenthal and wrestling senior 285-pounder Ian Butterbrodt have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 18-24, Brown announced on Monday.

Risa Mosenthal, Women's Lacrosse, Sophomore, Campton, N.H.
Sophomore attack Risa Mosenthal scored four goals to lead women's lacrosse to a 12-11 win at No. 9 Princeton on Saturday. A native of Campton, N.H., Mosenthal tallied five points in the game with her four goals and an assist. She posted all five of her points during a 10-0 run in which the Bears turned a 9-2 deficit with 18:42 to play in the first half into a 12-9 advantage with 12:26 remaining in the second half. Mosenthal, who leads the Bears in points (40) and goals (34) on the season, recently earned a spot on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.

Senior 285-pounder Ian Butterbrodt earned three wins over the weekend, advancing to the round of 12 at the 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa. Advancing to the second day of the NCAA Championships, the North Andover, Mass., native scored upset wins over No. 8 seed Demetrius Thomas of Pittsburgh and No. 16 seed Chase Singletary of Ohio State to reach the round of 12, coming within one win of earning All-America status. He finished the year with a 21-8 record for his first 20-win season as a collegiate wrestler.
