Throughout the month of March, Brown Athletics will celebrate Women's History Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize women who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.

Lisa Caputo '86, Field Hockey/Women's Lacrosse
Graduating magna cum laude as a Political Science and French major in 1986, Lisa Caputo was a member of the 1984 Ivy League championship field hockey team, as well as the lacrosse team at Brown. After graduating from Brown, Caputo found success in the political arena, serving as Deputy Assistant to President Clinton as well as Press Secretary to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton during the administration's first term. Prior to working with the Clinton administration, she guided media operations efforts for Al Gore during the 1992 Democratic National Convention and also served as Press Secretary for the 1988 Dukakis-Bentsen campaign. In 2011, Caputo was part of an elite group selected for the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, an honor that annually recognizes distinguished individuals on the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of their collegiate athletic careers. Caputo currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Travelers Companies, overseeing the company's marketing, research, and corporate communications efforts.
