Throughout the month of February, Brown Athletics will celebrate Black History Month through the "28 Days of Black at Brown" series. Each day during the month, the Bears will recognize African Americans who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.

Bernard Muir '90, Men's Basketball
A four-year letter winner for the Brown basketball team, Bernard Muir '90 appeared in all games as a junior and senior prior to a decorated career in athletics administration. In his senior season as team captain, Muir garnered the J. Richmond Fales Trophy, which recognizes the team member that contributes the most to the sport at Brown through sportsmanship, performance, and influence. The Director of Athletics at Stanford University since 2012, Muir has served as a member of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee since 2012 and will chair the committee in 2018-19. He earned the NCAA's prestigious Silver Anniversary Award in 2015.
