
Dumas, Lincoln Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's track & field freshman Lily Dumas and men's swimming & diving junior Michael Lincoln have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 2-8, Brown announced on Monday.

Freshman track & field multi-athlete Lily Dumas won the 25th annual University of Rhode Island Pentathlon in her first-ever collegiate competition on Wednesday at Mackal Fieldhouse. A native of Holden, Mass., Dumas racked up 3,292 total points to claim first place in the pentathlon, edging Bosibori Mosongo of New Hampshire by 92 points, in an event that consisted of seven participants from Brown, UNH, URI, and Holy Cross. Dumas won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.95 and also added a top-three finish in the shot put, high jump and long jump events.

Junior swimmer Michael Lincoln contributed to two school records at the Big Al Open over the weekend. The Palo Alto, Calif., native opened the invite by breaking the 500-freestyle record with a time of 4:22.60 while finishing fourth in the A final. His time knocked almost two seconds off of the previous school mark (4:24.49). On the second day, Lincoln won the top final in the 200 freestyle (1:35.69) and later helped the 800 freestyle set another school mark, while winning the event in 6:26.14.
