
Men’s Tennis Cruises Past Binghamton, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team shutout Binghamton, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears are now a perfect 11-0 in their matches to open the spring, having defeated St. John's, 4-0, yesterday.
"This was another solid effort by the team today," said head coach Tim Gray. "I am pleased that we are competing exceptionally well this early in the season. We have to continue to work hard and good things will happen."
Junior Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) and sophomore Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) opened the doubles round with a 6-2 win in first doubles. Sophomores Ben Collier (Darien, Conn.) and freshman Robert Siniakowicz (West Windsor, N.J.) then teamed up for a 6-3 victory in third doubles to clinch the point. Senior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) and sophomore Teddy van Eck (Rye, N.Y.) added a 6-4 win in the second spot for good measure.
Freshman Roger Chou (Austin, Texas) was the first Bear to win his singles match, doing so by a score of 6-3, 6-2 in third singles. Lam followed in the second spot with 6-3 victories in both sets. Walker was next up with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph in fourth singles while junior Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) captured his first singles tilt in three sets, 7-5, 1-6, 7-5. Tan (6-3, 6-0, fifth) and Siniakowicz (7-5, 6-4, sixth) rounded out the wins for Brown.
The Bears next host Bryant at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 3:00 p.m.
