
All-Ivy Men's Lacrosse Team Honors Five Brown Standouts

Providence, R.I. - Five members of the Brown men's lacrosse team have been honored with All-Ivy honors in a vote of the Ivy League head men's lacrosse coaches. Bears' sophomore goalie Phil Goss (San Francisco, CA) was named First Team All-Ivy, senior defenseman JJ Ntshaykolo (San Francisco, CA) and senior face-off specialist Ted Ottens (Wilton, CT) earned Second Team All-Ivy accolades, and junior attackman Jackson Newsome (Arlington, VA) and junior middy Michael Panepinto (Needham, MA) captured Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors.
Goss leads the Ivy League and ranks second nationally with 13.07 saves per game, while his save percentage (.530) ranks 16th in the nation. Goss exceled against #15 Rutgers with a season high 20 save and registered 17 saves in Brown's win over Princeton. He was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after Brown's 12-9 win over #4 Villanova, making 11 of his 17 saves in the second half, including six in the fourth quarter.
A two-time Second Team All-Ivy selection, Ottens is Brown's team leader with 93 ground balls, 13th nationally (6.64 per game), and picked up nine ground balls vs. #6 Yale, #6 Cornell and #4 Villanova. He had a big game vs. Dartmouth, winning 12-of-16 face-offs and scoring his 10th career goal. Ottens won 18-of-24 face-offs vs. Stony Brook, including 12 of the game's first 15 face-offs, and won 14-of-23 face-offs in Brown's victory over #4 Villanova.
Ntshaykolo is a three-time All-Ivy selection, earning Second Team honors in 2016 and Honorable Mention accolades a year ago. He has started 46 career games for the Bears and scored his second career goal this season vs. Holy Cross. Ntshaykolo has 91 career ground balls and 52 career caused turnovers.
Panepinto is Brown's leading goal scorer with 27 goals for the season. He scored three goals vs. Bryant, Stony Brook and Holy Cross. He scored the game-winning goal against Princeton, finding the back of the net with 14 seconds remaining in Brown's 14-13 victory over the Tigers.
Newsome is Brown's third leading goal scorer with 21 goals on the season. He scored a career high five goals vs. #6 Yale and netted three goals in Brown's win over Dartmouth. Newsome played a key role in Brown's win over Princeton with three goals, while also scoring three goals vs. Harvard.
