
Women's Lacrosse's Karlsson Selected Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown women's lacrosse senior Mikaela Karlsson (Framingham, Mass.) was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday in an announcement made by the conference for her performance over the weekend.
Karlsson provided a spark off the bench and helped lead the Bears to a thrilling 14-13 win over No. 23 Cornell on Saturday, the program's first victory over the Big Red since 1999. The Framingham, Mass. native entered the contest in goal with 18:37 remaining and Brown trailing 13-8. She concluded the contest saving all five shots she saw while the Bears scored six -straight goals for the win.
It is the second-straight Defensive Player of the Week nod Brown has claimed, with sophomore Maggie Bigelow (Montclair, N.J.) taking home the honor on April 2.
The Bears next hit the road for back-to-back Ivy League contests at Harvard on Saturday, April 14 and at Columbia on Saturday, April 21. Both games are set to start at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
