
Men's Tennis Falls at No. 33 Dartmouth, 5-2

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by No. 33 Dartmouth, 5-2, on Sunday at the Boss Tennis Center. It is the second straight match the Bears have faced a ranked opponent, having squared off against No. 28 Harvard on Friday (4-3 loss).
The Big Green took the doubles point to open the afternoon with a 6-1 win in third doubles followed by a 6-3 showing in second doubles. Senior Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and sophomore Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) battled No. 55 David Horneffer and Charlie Broom toe-to-toe in first doubles but the match ended unfinished at 4-4.
Dartmouth next won the first four matches of singles play, in second, first, sixth and fourth singles. Freshman Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) put Brown on the board with a 7-5, 6-4 win in the fifth spot while senior Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) won his second-straight match in the third slot, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
The Bears next compete in back-to-back road matches at Penn on Saturday, April 14 and at Princeton on Sunday, April 15. Both matches are slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
