PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's lacrosse team will host No. 23 Cornell in a pivotal Ivy League match-up on Saturday, April 7 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network and ESPN3.

LAST TIME OUT
Brown cruised past Sacred Heart, 15-4, on Saturday, March 31 in its final non-conference game at Campus Field. Sophomore Emma DeGennaro led the Bears in scoring with five goals with sophomore KC Williams (3G) and junior Zoe Verni (3G, 1A) each recording hat tricks. Freshman Risa Mosenthal (2G) and junior Hafsa Moinuddin (3A) also finished with multiple points.
BEAR LEADERS
Freshman Risa Mosenthal leads the Bears in points with 48, with a squad-best 42 goals and six assists. Junior Hafsa Moinuddin and Emma DeGennaro are tied for second on the team on scoring with 35 points, with Moinuddin recording 18 goals and 17 assists while DeGennaro has contributed 25 goals and 10 assists. For draw controls, junior Zaffino has a team-high 60, which is the third-best output in program history for a single season. Senior Marissa Hudgins paces the defense with 17 caused turnovers while sophomore Maggie Bigelow has started all 11 games between the pipes and has a 11.41 goals-against average and a 41.8 save percentage.
MOSENTHAL LEADS THE WAY
Freshman Risa Mosenthal has had quite the opening to her collegiate career and has recorded a hat trick in 10 of 11 games on her way to 42 goals. The rookie's 3.82 goals per game average is third in the Ivy League and 12th in the nation. Mosenthal's 61.8 shot percentage also ranks sixth best in the country. In the Brown record book, her 42 goals are already fifth best in a single season with four regular season games still remaining on the Bears' schedule. The program record is within reach for Mosenthal, with Brown Hall of Famer Suzanne Bailey '91 holding the record with 60 goals scored in 1991.
FAMILY AFFAIR
Senior Carolyn Paletta will be playing against her two sisters on Saturday, Natalie, a junior defender, and Grace, a freshman midfielder. Grace has played in 10 games, starting four, and has six goals and one assist while Natalie has appeared in three contests.
LAST SEASON VS. CORNELL
Brown chipped away at No. 8/8 Cornell's lead in the second half and pulled within two, but the Big Red made two key saves in the closing minutes and added a goal for a 11-8 win on Saturday, April 8 at Schoellkopf Field. Senior Carolyn Paletta led the Bears in scoring with three tallies.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell has compiled a 6-4 record this season and a 2-1 mark in Ivy League competition while ranked 23rd in the IWLCA Coaches Poll. The Big Red played top-ranked Stony Brook on Tuesday, falling 19-4 on the road. Cornell's conference wins came against Columbia (17-5, March 10) and Yale (13-8, March 24) while its lone loss was versus No. 12/15 Penn (11-4, March 3). Caroline Allen leads the squad in points with 30 (21G, 9A) and is tied for the lead in goals with Tomasina Leska, who ranks second in points (21G, 4A). Joey Coffy and Cait Callahan guide the defense with 13 caused turnovers each while Coffy also leads Cornell with 39 draw controls. Katie McGahan has started all 10 games in goal and has a 10.42 goals-against average and a 46.7 save percentage.
