
Men's Tennis Falls to No. 47 Cornell, 4-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by No. 47 Cornell, 4-1, on Sunday at the Brown Varsity Tennis Courts. The Big Red would win the doubles point and take three of the first four singles matches for the victory.
Seniors Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and Anthony Arocho (Norridge, Ill.) would record a 6-2 win in first doubles but Cornell would claim the round with a 6-3 showing in third doubles and a close 7-5 win in the second spot.
The Big Red opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win in fifth singles before junior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory in fourth singles to pull Brown within one (2-1). Cornell would then put the match out of reach by claiming second and third singles for a 4-1 advantage.
The Bears next host Yale on Saturday, April 28 for Senior Day at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Varsity Tennis Courts.
