No. 11 Women's Crew Sweeps Past Cornell, Navy

ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 11 Brown University women's crew won all six races at Cornell University with Navy on Saturday morning on the Cayuga Lake Inlet, retaining the Dunn Bowl in the match-up with the host Big Red.
The Bears claimed victories in the NCAA events – the first varsity eight, second varsity eight, and A varsity four – and also captured wins in the third varsity eight, B varsity four, and C varsity four. Brown improved to 26-0 in the Dunn Bowl, a trophy which began in 1993.
In the first varsity eight, the Bears clocked in with a time of 6:37.8, defeating Navy (6:47.5) by 9.7 seconds and Cornell (6:50.8) by 13.0 seconds.
Brown's second varsity eight finished in a time of 7:02.7, topping the Big Red (7:14.0) by 11.3 seconds and the Midshipmen (7:16.9) by 14.2 seconds.
Rounding out the NCAA events, the Bears' A varsity four posted a time of 7:47.3, beating Navy (7:58.4) by 11.1 seconds and Cornell (8:04.1) by 16.8 seconds.
In the B varsity four, Brown came in with a time of 7:45.4, besting the Big Red (7:53.7) by 8.3 seconds and the Mids (7:59.0) by 13.6 seconds.
In a dual race against Navy in the third varsity eight, Brown won 7:30.2 to 7:39.3, registering a 9.1-second margin in the victory.
Closing the day with a dual against Cornell in the C varsity four, the Bears gained an 8:20.5 to 9:15.8 victory, posting a 55.3-second margin.
Next, Brown hosts No. 5 Yale University on Tuesday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. in its only home race of the season and regular season finale.
