
Fencing's Golash Closes Competition at NCAA Championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Brown University women's fencing freshman Signe Golash made her debut at the NCAA Championships, closing competition in women's sabre on Friday at Pennsylvania State University's Multi-Sport Facility.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Golash earned a 5-3 win over Maddalena Bosetti of Ohio State on the second day of the NCAA Championships. She gained a 5-3 victory over Kerry Plunkett of Temple on day one. Overall, she went 2-21 with a -67 indicator and finished in 24th place out of 24 competitors in women's sabre.
During the regular season Golash finished in 10th place in women's sabre at the NCAA Northeast Regional and went 33-2 in Northeast Fencing Conference competition.
In the team standings, Brown ranks 24th out of 24 schools.
Men's competition at the NCAA Championships takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
