Men's Squash Closes Season At Hoehn Cup

Hartford, Conn. - Brown advanced to the Hoehn Cup National Championship semifinals, but completed its season with losses to #9 Yale, 8-1, and #11 Westnern Ontario, 6-3, to finish 12th in the nation.

In the semifinal match with Yale, Brown sophomore Blake Gilbert-Bono defeated Yale's Thomas Kingshott in five games at No. 6. But the Bears were unable to overcome Yale's overall depth, falling by an 8-1 margin.

Against Western Ontario, senior Thomas Blecher earned a three game win at number one, with Gilbert-Bono taking a 3-1 win at six and sophomore Harrison Boyer, a three-game victory at eight.

The match could have gone in either direction with three matches going to five games, all going in favor of Western Ontario. Junior Philip Demeulenaere at four, sophomore Nick Pitaro at five and junior Palak Goel at eight all went five games.
