PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Former Brown men's soccer standout and All-American Jeff Larentowicz '05 is set to compete for Atlanta United in the 2018 MLS Cup on Saturday, December 8 (8 PM) against Portland at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Larentowicz has started 33 of 34 games played for Atlanta this regular season, playing both midfield and defense, and has added one goal and a pair of assists with 2771 minutes. He made the move from midfield to defense for the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs, helping the club earn a spot in the MLS Cup.
A 14-year MLS veteran, Larentowicz is one of the longest tenured players in the league, and is ranked in the top-10 in both career starts and appearances in league history among field players. Larentowicz has played for five different MLS teams, winning the MLS Cup with Colorado in 2010, and joined Atlanta for the 2017 season.
Larentowicz put together an accomplished career at Brown, where he made 66 appearances during his four years, scoring seven goals and recording six assists. He led the Bears to two Ivy League Championships while earning honors as a Second-Team NSCAA All-American and a four-time All-Ivy League selection.
