PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Gabe Welp (West Chester, Ohio) and junior Daniel Schiller (Glenview, Ill.) were both named Second Team All-Ivy as four members of the Brown men's soccer team earned league honors, the Ivy League announced on Wednesday.
In addition to the Welp and Schiller, rookie Derek Waleffe (Madison, Wis.) and senior Toby Howell (Bradenton, Fla.) also collected Honorable Mention All-Ivy accolades.
Welp, a team captain, was named All-Ivy for the first time in his career after anchoring the backline over the past five seasons. The fifth-year senior started all 17 games played and finished tied for the team-lead in minutes, adding an assist.
Schiller enjoyed a breakout season as he led the Bears in assists (5) and points (13). He also tied for the team lead with four goals. Schiller scored the game-winning goal against Bryant and posted five points in Ivy play.
Howell capped his career with Ivy honors after he shared the team lead with four goals, scoring all four in conference play. He notched both game-winning goals in a pair of shutout victories over Harvard and Yale.
