Women’s Hockey’s Gross Named ECAC Rookie of the Month

ALBANY, N.Y. – Brown women's hockey freshman Lizzy Gross (Scarborough, Maine) was named ECAC Rookie of the Month in an announcement made by the conference on Thursday.

The rookie finished the first month of her career with four goals and three assists for seven points, leading the Bears in scoring. Gross earned ECAC Rookie of the Week laurels on Oct. 22 after she netted a hat trick in a 4-0 victory at Holy Cross on Oct. 20 for her first collegiate points.

Gross added her second multipoint game against UConn on Oct. 23 with one goal and two assists, helping the Bears erase a four-goal deficit in the third period to win the contest 5-3.

She added an assist at Princeton on Oct. 27 to cap off her month's scoring. Gross also concluded October with a +/- rating of +5.

The Bears are back in action this weekend at Meehan Auditorium, hosting No. 9/10 Colgate on Friday, Nov. 2 at 6:00 p.m. and No. 6/6 Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 3:00 p.m.
