Women’s Hockey’s Isaac and Gross Earn ECAC Weekly Awards

ALBANY, N.Y. – Brown women's hockey junior Calla Isaac (Sherwood Park, Alberta) and freshman Lizzy Gross (Scarborough, Maine) have earned weekly honors from the ECAC, the conference announced on Monday.
Isaac was named the ECAC Goalie of the Week after she made a total of 56 saves in a series sweep against Holy Cross in the team's opening weekend. She allowed just one goal in the two games versus the Crusaders. Isaac made 24 saves in a 3-1 game one win on Friday, Oct. 19 and came back the following night to post 32 saves for her first-career shutout in a 4-0 victory. Isaac and the Bears shutdown all nine of Holy Cross' power-play opportunities on the weekend.
Gross earned ECAC Rookie of the Week laurels after netting a hat trick in a 4-0 game two win at Holy Cross for her first collegiate points. Gross' scores included a power play and unassisted goal. She finished the weekend with a +4 rating.
The Bears are right back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 23, when they host UConn at Meehan Auditorium starting at 6:00 p.m.
