
Women’s Rugby Defeated at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Brown women's rugby team was defeated by Quinnipiac, 85-3, on Saturday at the Quinnipiac Rugby Field.
The Bobcats (3-3) jumped out to a 32-0 lead in the first half. The opening frame was highlighted for Brown (2-2) with good tackles from sophomore Meredie Cohen (Menlo Park, Calif.) and seniors Dylan Jack (Pasadena, Calif.) and Elise Hinkle (Sudbury, Mass.).
Junior Alexandria Simon (Kaunakakai, Hawaii) and sophomore Lexi Nelson (Foxboro, Mass.) opened the second half with some defensive fire but the Bobcats would be the first to strike. Hinkle later made a try saving stop for the Bears.
Brown got on the board at the end of the second by kicking for points, bringing the score to 85-3.
Brown will next compete at Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 20 in an 11:00 a.m. match.
