
Men's Tennis Overpowers Quinnipiac, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team shutout Quinnipiac, 7-0, at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday in their second match in as many days to improve to 2-0 in dual matches.
The Bears won the doubles point with senior Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and sophomore Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) starting things off in third doubles with a 6-4 win. Freshman Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) and junior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) sealed the point with a 6-4 showing in the second spot. Senior Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) and senior Anthony Arocho (Norridge, Ill.) added a win in first doubles (7-6 (3)).
Haworth opened singles play in first with a 6-3, 6-0 victory. Lam following in third singles (6-3, 6-0) and Tarwid next won in the fourth spot (6-4, 6-3). Walker (6-2, 2-6, 6-0, Second), sophomore Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) (6-3, 6-2, Fifth) and senior Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) (6-2, 6-4, Sixth) closed out the victories for Brown.
The Bears will next host Fordham and Fairfield at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Saturday, Jan. 27 for matches at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
