#11 Brown Women's Squash Earns 7-2 Win Over #16 Amherst

Providence. R.I. - In the midst of playing its fourth of five games in an eight day span, the 11th ranked Brown women's squash team captured a 7-2 decision against #16 Amherst at the Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion Tuesday afternoon.
The two teams battled through several five game matches, but Brown had the advantage at the top of the lineup with wins in the first six matches,
Sophomore Hannah Seckendorf earned a 3-1 victory at the top of the lineup to set the pace for the Bears. Freshman Alexa Jacobs captured a 3-0 win at number two, followed by Junior Katrina Northrop, a 3-1 winner at three, freshman Catherine Kimmel, a 3-0 winner at four, junior Hannah Safford, who took a 3-0 winner at five, and sophomore Scarlett Bergam, who captured a 3-0 decision at six. Senior Katherine Pisani was also victorious at number eight, rallying from two games down for an 11-13, 6-11, 11-6, 14-12, 13-11 victory over the Mammoths.
Brown is back action at home again on Thursday, January 18, hosting Dickinson at the Pizzitola Sports Center, starting at 5:30 pm.
