
Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Holy Cross for a Tuesday Showdown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's lacrosse team will continue the 2017 season at Stevenson-Pincince Field on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and host Holy Cross for a 6:00 p.m. contest.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bears opened their 2017 campaign strong, shutting out Sacred Heart, 19-0, on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Brown registered 12 first-half goals and added seven in the second. Sophomore Hafsa Moinuddin led the Bears in points with six, on five goals and one assists. In net, junior Mikaela Karlsson made nine saves in the shutout, Brown's first since 1982.
MOST GOALS SINCE 2014
Brown's 19 goals on Saturday, Feb. 18 were its most since the 2014 season when the team defeated Sacred Heart, 19-6, on Feb. 23. The program record for most goals in a game is 26, set in the 2011 season against St. Mary's.
ALL-TIME VS. HOLY CROSS
The Bears are 17-2 all-time versus the Crusaders. The two team's last played in 2015, with Brown winning 11-10. Holy Cross last won in 2012, also a 11-10 decision.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
After opening the 2017 season falling to No. 17 Boston College, 19-8 (Feb. 4), Holy Cross has won two-straight, with victories over Fairfield (11-8, Feb. 11) and Iona (10-0, Feb. 18). Julia Maloney recorded six saves in the shutout against the Gaels on Feb. 18, the program's second shutout all-time. Mahoney has played every minute in goal, and has a 9.00 goals-against average and a .518 save percentage. Maddie Ward leads the Crusaders in scoring with eight goals. Mary Patalita and Maggie Moriarty carry the team lead in assists with four.
