No. 14 Men's Water Polo's Kirchberg, Burke, Bush Garner All-NWPC Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – No. 14 Brown University men's water polo seniors Tyler Kirchberg, Rico Burke, and Tommy Bush have earned All-Northeast Water Polo Conference honors, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Friday.
Kirchberg (Orinda, Calif.) garnered First Team All-NWPC accolades while Burke (San Mateo, Calif.) and Bush (Lafayette, Calif.) each gained Second Team All-NWPC laurels. Burke took home Second Team All-NWPC for the second straight year while Kirchberg and Bush both earned All-NWPC plaudits for the first time.
Kirchberg leads Brown in points (93), goals (49), assists (44), and field blocks (23), while ranking second on the team in steals (54). He has added 18 ejections drawn and 10 sprints won. Kirchberg won NWPC Player of the Week on Oct. 25 after scoring 13 goals in four wins at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament.
Now a two-time All-NWPC honoree, Burke sits second on the squad in field blocks (16) and ejections drawn (29), while ranking third in steals (49) and fourth in goals (30). Last year, he gained Second Team NWPC All-Tournament Team accolades.
Bush stands second on the club in both goals (38) and assists (33), while adding 43 steals, 21 ejections drawn, and 10 field blocks. He gained NWPC Player of the Week honors on Oct. 11.
No. 4 seed Brown opens play at the 2017 NWPC Championship on Friday at 8:00 p.m. in a first round match-up against No. 5 MIT at Harvard's Blodgett Pool.
