
Men's Soccer Edged at Cornell, 1-0, in Double Overtime

ITHACA, N.Y. – Ryan Hill broke a scoreless tie in the 101st minute of play to push Cornell past the Brown men's soccer team, 1-0, in Saturday afternoon's Ivy League match at Berman Field.
Brown moves to 6-4-2 on the season and 1-2-1 in the Ivy League. Cornell improves to 7-5-2, 2-1-1.
Senior Joey Cipicchio (Columbus, Ohio) registered three saves for the Bears. Mitchell Meyer had six stops for the Big Red in the win.
Brown outshot Cornell by a 7-4 margin in the opening 45 minutes, including a pair of bids on target from Quinn English (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Toby Howell (Bradenton, Fla.), but neither team found the back of the net.
The Bears were forced to play with ten men after a red card was issued with ten minutes remaining in regulation, but Cipicchio came up with a big stop at 86:30, denying Tyler Bagley to send the game into extra time.
After a scoreless first overtime, Hill broke through at 100:52 in the second OT stanza with his first goal of the season. Harry Fuller sent a cross from the left side into the box, where Hill eventually gathered control and hit the open look for the victory
Cornell held a slim edge in shots, 16-15. Howell paced the Bears with four shots.
Brown will take a break from Ivy League play on Tuesday when the Bears host UMass Lowell at 7 PM.
