PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Patrick Laughlin has announced that junior James Myall (St. Charles, Ill.) will serve as a team captain for the 2016 season after a vote by the members of the team, along with senior Nate Pomeroy (Groton, Mass.), who was selected in the spring.
"James is a fierce competitor that has been an influential part of our program in his first two years," said Laughlin. "He reads the game very well and is a key central player for us. I look forward to seeing James continue to grow as a leader and captain of this team."
Myall has started 22 out of 24 games played over his first two seasons with the Bears, including a pair of assists as a freshman. He bolstered the Brown defense as a rookie in 2014, when he started 16 games and helped the team finish with a 0.98 goals against average.
Myall and the Bears will open the season on Friday, Sept. 2 when they host Bryant University at 7 PM. Video of all home contests and all Ivy League games, home and away, will be broadcast live on ILDN.TV/BROWN.
