PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Patrick Laughlin has announced the team's schedule for the upcoming 2016 season.
The 17-game schedule features nine home games at Stevenson-Pincince Field, including four Ivy League contests. The Bears will play four games against teams that played in last year's NCAA Tournament.
"I am very excited to announce our 2016 schedule," said Laughlin. "We have some excellent games at Stevenson-Pincince field this fall to go along with away games against tough New England opponents. These games will help prepare us for the Ivy League season."
Brown will kick off the 2016 season with three straight home games, starting with Bryant (Sept. 2) in the season opener. The Bears will then host Georgia State (Sept. 9) and SMU (Sept. 11) in the Capitol City Classic, a four-team tournament with Providence College.
Brown will visit UMass Lowell on Sept. 14 to open five straight road games, including tilts at UMass (Sept. 20), Boston University (Sept. 20), Rhode Island (Sept. 24) and Holy Cross (Sept. 27).
The Bears return to College Hill on Oct. 1 against Columbia for the Ivy League opener, followed by a home game against crosstown rival Providence College (Oct. 5). After a trip to Princeton on Oct. 8, the Bears will return for three straight home games, hosting Harvard (Oct. 14), 2015 College Cup finalist Clemson (Oct. 16) and Cornell (Oct. 23).
Following a road game at Penn (Oct. 29), the Bears will host Yale on Nov. 5 in the final home game before visiting Dartmouth (Nov. 12) in the regular season finale.
