
Women's Tennis Upends No. 59 Princeton, 4-3

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's tennis team defeated No. 59 Princeton, 4-3, in its first Ivy League action of the season at the Pizzitola Sports Center. All four of Brown's points came in singles action.
Junior Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) and sophomore Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif) opened the match with a 6-3 win in first doubles. Princeton proceeded to take second doubles and came-from-behind to win third doubles, sealing the point.
In singles action, Lord and Benotto continued with their winning ways, taking both first and second singles, respectively. Lord won by a score of 7-5, 6-3, while No. 94 Benotto was victorious, 6-2, 6-3. Senior Hannah Camhi (Woddbury, N.Y.) won third singles 7-5, 6-1; to give the Bears wins in the top three spots. Freshman Katie Ta (Mission Viejo, Calif.) rounded out the Brown victors on the day with a 7-5, 6-2, win in sixth singles.
The Bears will return to the courts tomorrow, (April 2) to face No. 69 Penn on at 2:00 p.m.
