ALL-TIME VERSUS COLGATE
The Bears are 10-2 all-time against Colgate, having last played the Raiders in the 2015 season, a 11-5 win in Hamilton, N.Y. Senior Lauren Toy registered four goals in the contest.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate is 1-4 so far on the season, posting its lone win against Niagara in overtime (11-10) on March 23. Isael Kreitler leads the team in points with 16, on 10 goals and six assists. Emily Peebles carries the team-lead in goals with 11, paired with one assist for second on the squad in points with 12. For assists, Kallan Murray has recorded a team-best seven to go along with three goals for 10 points. In net, Asil Asfour has started all five games, putting together an 11.25 goals against average and .394 save percentage. As a team, the Raider average 10.00 goals per game and are 0-3 this season on the road.
BROWN CAPTURES SEVENTH-STRAIGHT OCEAN STATE CUP AT BRYANT
The Bears defeated Bryant, 11-10, in the Seventh Annual Ocean State Cup on Wednesday night at the Bryant Track and Turf Complex. With the win, the Bears move to 7-0 all-time against the Bulldogs. With the score 3-2 in favor of Bryant, Brown went on an offensive run, tallying four-straight goals, including two by freshman Zoe Verni, to end the first half up 6-3.
In the second half, Brown pushed its lead to 9-3 before Bryant's offense began to click. The Bulldogs pulled within one (11-10) at 5:23 but the Bear defense closed out the rest of the way for the victory.
Brown controlled the draw controls in the game, 14-9, and held a slight edge in shots, 22-21. Senior Lauren Toy led the Bear scorers with five points on three goals and two assists. Freshman Hafsa Moinuddin ended the game with two goals and two assists for four points, scoring her first career point in the contest.
TOY LEADS BEARS IN SCORING
Senior Lauren Toy leads the Bears in both goals (11) and assists (6) for 17 points. The tri-captain has recorded two hat tricks, her first a four-goal performance in the team's first game, and her second, a three goal and two assist performance against Bryant to capture Brown's seventh-straight Ocean State Cup. In four of the Bears' five games, Toy has registered multiple points, included a four assist game against CCSU combined with a goal.
MOINUDDIN REGISTERS FIRST CAREER POINTS
Freshman Hafsa Moinuddin entered Wednesday's game at Bryant with no career points and ended the game with four. The rookie scored her first collegiate goal at 14:36 of the first half. Moinuddin added another goal in the opening minute of the second half. She then recorded her first-career assist on Brown's next goal and closed out the game with the helper on what proved to be the game-winning goal.
HUDGINS A DEFENSIVE PRESENCE
Sophomore Marissa Hudgins ranks second in the Ivy League in caused turnovers, averaging 1.75 per game and also ranks fifth in ground balls per game (2.75).
