
Men's Hockey Visits Maine in Portland on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will take a break from ECAC play on Saturday when the Bears visit Maine at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland (7 PM). Links to live audio and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Last Time Out
Brown dropped a pair of games in the North Country last weekend, falling at Clarkson, 3-2, and No. 20 St. Lawrence, 7-2. Charlie Corcoran and Tim Lappin both scored against the Golden Knights and Tim Ernst made 21 saves in net. Tommy Marchin and Max Willman provided the scoring in the SLU game, while Gavin Nieto made a season high 32 stops in the loss.
Scouting Maine
Maine (4-7-3, 1-4-1) will look to snap a three-game winless skid after a 0-1-1 two-game series against Vermont last weekend. Maine is 3-2-1 against ECAC teams this season with wins over RPI and Quinnipiac. Senior forward Blaine Byron, who leads Maine with 79 career points, is the team's leading scoring this season with 12 points (6g, 6a) in 14 games. Mitchell Fossier also has six goals, including three game winners, and Cam Brown has a team-high nine assists. Rob McGovern is 4-5-3 in net with a 2.87 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Maine is ranked 58th nationally on the power play (7.6 percent) but is checking in at 87.3 percent on the penalty kill.
Brown vs. Maine All-Time
Brown and Maine have met 12 times, with the Black Bears leading the all-time series, 10-2-0. The teams first met during the 1979-80 season, while the last meeting was in 2005-06, when Maine topped Brown, 2-1.
Willman's Point Streak
Max Willman heads into the weekend with a five-game point streak, tied for the longest on the team this season. He has four goals and one assist over the last five games.
Helping Out
Sam Lafferty is tied for sixth in the nation with 1.00 assists per game and leads the team with eight assists. He set a career high with three helpers in the loss at Union (11/5).
