
Women's Hockey Continues ECAC Play, Welcomes Union (Fri.) and Rensselaer (Sat.)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will continue conference action and host Union on Friday, Nov. 4 and RPI on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Meehan Auditorium. Friday's game will start at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest will begin at 3:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE DUTCHWOMEN
Union enters Friday's match-up with a 2-8-0 record, 0-2-0 in ECAC play. The Dutchwomen have dropped four-straight games, including conference contests against No. 6/7 Colgate (2-0, Oct. 28) and Cornell (3-1, Oct. 29). Offensively, the team is led by Haley Shugart, who has a squad-best three goals and is tied with Caitlyn McLaren for the team-high in points (5). Three players have registered three assists, in McLaren, Rachel de Perio and Cheyenne Harris. Kate Spooner has played seven games in net for the Dutchwomen, logging 366:10 minutes with a 2.46 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, one shutout and a 2-5-0 record.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
Rensselaer brings a 3-6-1 overall record into the weekend and a 1-1-0 showing in the ECAC after splitting last weekend with a 1-0 win against Cornell (Oct. 28) and a 4-1 loss versus Colgate (Oct. 29). Prior to Saturday's match-up with the Bears, the Engineers will play at Yale (2-1-1, 0-1-1 ECAC) for a 6:00 p.m. contest. Sabrina Repaci leads the team with five points, on three goals in two points. Rapaci shares a team-high in goals (3) with Hannah Behounek and Makenna Thomas. Four other player share the assist lead with Repaci, with two helpers on the year. In goal, Lovisa Selander has played in nine games, totaling a 1.89 goals-against average, a .939 save percentage and two shutouts.
LAST SEASON VS. UNION
The Bears went 1-0-1 against the Dutchwomen last year, opening the series with a 2-0 win at Union, and then a 2-2 overtime tie at Meehan Auditorium. Two power-play goals by senior Erin Conway and junior Samantha Swanstrom lifted Brown in game one, while junior Sam Donovan registered the second contest's first goal and Conway recording the game-tying goal. Junior Julianne Landry recorded her first-career shutout in game one with 38 saves, and made 28 stops in the second game.
LAST SEASON VS. RPI
The Engineers won last year's series, 2-0-0, recording a 2-0 win at RPI and a 6-2 victory at Brown. Junior Samantha Swanstrom and senior Erin Conway recorded both of the Bears' goal in the second contest.

The Bears will play in their first road contests of 2016-17 when they travel to Cornell on Friday, Nov. 11 and Colgate on Saturday, Nov. 12. Friday's puck drop will be at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's game will begin at 3:00 p.m.
