
Men's Soccer Earns Six All-Ivy Selections; Hagstrom Named First Team

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Jack Hagstrom (Middleton, Wis.) of the Brown men's soccer team was named First Team All-Ivy, and Louis Zingas (Warren, Mich.) and Matthew Chow (Vancouver, BC) earned Second Team honors, as six Bears earned league accolades announced on Wednesday.
In addition to First Team and Second Team, seniors Erik Hanson (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Nate Pomeroy (Groton, Mass.) and junior Nico Lozada (Dallas, Texas) earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors.
Hagstrom was named First Team All-Ivy for the second straight season after another standout campaign. The former Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year anchored the Brown backline to a 0.96 goals-against average in league games. He also added one goal and one assist in 14 games played and was named Co-MVP of the Capital City Classic.
Zingas picked up All-Ivy honors for the first time in his career. The junior defender led the team in minutes played and scored a pair of game-winning goals against Princeton and Yale.
Chow made Second Team All-Ivy for the second time in as many seasons. The sophomore led the team in scoring with six goals and 13 points, including three game winners, playing in all 17 games.
Hanson started 15 games for the Bears as the team's primary goalkeeper. He racked up eight wins with four shutouts and ranked third in the Ivy League with a 1.02 goals-against average. He set a career high with eight saves in the win over Princeton.
Pomeroy, a team co-captain, earned All-Ivy honors for the first time in his career. The senior forward ranked third on the team with nine points and added three goals, highlighted by a pair of game winners over Bryant and Holy Cross.
Lozada put together a breakout season for the Bears for Honorable Mention accolades. He led the Ivy League with six assists and also added a pair of goals, raking second on the team with 10 points.
