PRINCETON, N.J. – Louis Zingas (Warren, Mich.) scored the only goal of the contest and Erik Hanson (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) racked up a career-high eight saves as the Brown men's soccer team blanked Princeton, 1-0, Saturday at Roberts Stadium.

Brown (6-4-1, 1-0-1) remained unbeaten in Ivy League play, while Princeton dropped to 5-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the league.

Zingas provided the scoring for the Bears as he found the back of the net in the 53rd minute with his first goal of the season. Senior Nate Pomeroy (Groton, Mass.) set up the goal with a cross into the box for the assist, while junior Nico Lozada (Dallas, Texas) also earned a helper for his league-best sixth assist of the season.

Princeton outshot the Bears, 8-4, in the opening half, but Hanson kept the tigers at bay with four saves for the scoreless stanza.

After Zingas gave the Bears a lead early in the second half, the Tigers maintained offensive pressure throughout the duration of the period, outshooting the Bears by a 13-6 margin. Once again, Hanson registered four saves in the second frame for a career-high eight stops in the game.

Princeton had a pair of chances in the final three minutes, but both bids missed the net, as the Bears held on for the win.

Hanson picked up his sixth win and third shutout of the season. Josh Haberman made one stop on the other end for the Tigers.

In addition to Lozada, Matthew Chow (Vancouver, British Columbia) and Quinn English (Milwaukee, Wis.) had two shots apiece.

Princeton outshot the Bears, 21-10, and held a slight edge in corner kicks, 5-4.

Brown will host Harvard on Saturday (10/14) at 7 PM.
