Women's Hockey Lands 17 on 2014-15 ECAC All-Academic Team

ALBANY, N.Y. – Brown University women's ice hockey has placed 17 student-athletes on the 2014-15 ECAC All-Academic Team, and junior Hunter Davis has earned Commissioner's Level status, the ECAC Hockey conference office announced on Monday.
The Bears totaled 17 honorees for the second consecutive season and have amassed at least 12 selections in each of the last four years, dating back to the 2011-12 season.
Seniors Kaitlyn Keon (Toronto, Ontario) and Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario) each garnered the award for the fourth time while Davis (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and fellow junior Ariana Rucker (Oakton, Va.) each captured the laurel for the third time.
Brown's quintet of two-time picks included seniors Lauren Vella (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Janice Yang (Westport, Conn.), juniors Monica Masucci (Toronto, Ontario) and Alli Rolandelli (Minnetonka, Minn.), and sophomore Erin Conway (Jackson, Mich.).
All eight members of the Bears' freshman class – Caroline Buckholtz (Greenlawn, N.Y.), Rachael Cholak (Kenosha, Wis.), Sam Donovan (New Brighton, Minn.), Cynthia Kyin (Stokie, Ill.), Julianne Landry (Hanover, Mass.), Katie Swanstrom (Ham Lake, Minn.), Samantha Swanstrom (Ham Lake, Minn.), and Dara Wais (Baltimore, Md.) – also took home the award.
Players are eligible for the ECAC All-Academic Team if they earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.
Commissioner's Level status recognizes the top scholar on each institution in the ECAC. Priority for the award goes to a student-athlete who has attained a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.75 on a 4.00 scale or has a grade-point average of 3.75 for three consecutive semesters (excluding summer semesters).
