PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown field hockey head coach Jill Reeve has revealed the Bears' 17-game schedule for the 2015 season in an announcement made on Tuesday.
"I'm excited for our fall season lineup, which includes some new out of region competition to compliment our Ivy League schedule," said Reeve.
Off the heels of a 9-8 record in 2014, the Bears' 2015 slate consists of nine home contests and six true road games, with two neutral contests rounding out the 17-game schedule.
The Bears will open the 2015 campaign in a two-day event taking place on the campus of American University. Brown will open up against the host Eagles on Sept. 4, before battling Appalachian State the following afternoon on Sept. 5.
The return to the friendly confines of Goldberger Family Field commences on Sept. 12 against Bryant, preceding another home contest against UMass-Lowell on Sept. 13.
After visiting cross-city rival, Providence (9/18), and traveling to UMass-Amherst for a neutral site battle against Saint Joseph's (9/19), Brown welcomes in the University of California, Berkeley to Goldberger Field on Sept. 25. The Golden Bears are one of four west coast programs, alongside Stanford, Pacific, and UC-Davis to become associate members of the America East Conference for field hockey in 2015.
Ivy League play kicks off at Columbia on Sept. 27, before the Bears entertain Dartmouth (10/3) and Georgetown (10/4) in a weekend home doubleheader. After a pivotal road game at Harvard on Oct. 10, Brown hosts Holy Cross on Oct. 14 prior to welcoming in reigning Ivy League champion, Princeton, on Oct. 17.
The Bears conclude October at Cornell on Oct. 24 and at home against Penn on Halloween, prior to Senior Day ceremonies the following day against Lehigh on Nov. 1. The regular season finale takes place at Yale on Nov. 7.
