LAST TIME OUT
The Brown women's lacrosse team got four goals each from Janie Gion (Northfield, Ill.) and Lauren Toy (Kentfield, Calif.) en route to an 11-5 triumph over Colgate on Tuesday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.
The Bears snap a two-game losing skid with the win to improve to 5-3 overall, while the Raiders drop to 5-4 with the loss. Senior netminder Kellie Roddy (Poway, Calif.) made seven saves to improve to 5-3. Jennie Berglin made eight stops for Colgate on Tuesday.
DIBONA CLEANING UP THE DRAWS
Senior co-captain Alyssa DiBona ranks second in the Ivy League and 22nd nationally with 4.00 draw controls per game. DiBona recorded a career high seven draw controls against Holy Cross on March 10.
GION STRIKES FOUR TIMES
Senior Janie Gion connected four times during Brown's 11-5 win over Colgate last Tuesday. Gion ranks second on the team in goals (12) and points (15).
TOY STORY
Junior Lauren Toy paces the Brown offense with 21 points on 16 goals and five assists over eight games. Toy has netted hat tricks in four games this season, including a career high four-goal outburst at Colgate last Tuesday.
ROWDY RODDY
Goaltender Kellie Roddy ranks second overall in the Ivy League and eighth nationally with a .511 save percentage. The senior made a career high 14 saves against Cornell on March 21.
Junior Sarah Nesi notched her third career multi-point outing with a goal and an assist at Colgate last Tuesday.
SERIES HISTORY – SAN DIEGO STATE
Tuesday will mark the first meeting between the two schools.
SCOUTING THE AZTECS
The Bears will try to slow down a high octane Aztecs attack that ranks 13th in the nation with 13.8 goals per game. Eight players boast double figures in goals, led by Christina Ricciardulli, who paces San Diego State with 21 goals. As a team, the Aztecs rank seventh in the nation with 14.6 draw controls per game. On attack, senior Lauren Maack paces the team with 18 assists
In between the pipes, Katrina Reeves has started all 10 games for the Aztecs, posting a 11.38 goals against average and .416 save percentage.
