PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's lacrosse goaltender Kellie Roddy (Poway, Calif.) has been named Ivy League Co-Defensive Player of the Week in an announcement made by the league office on Monday. Roddy shares the weekly distinction with goaltenders Ellie DeGarmo of Princeton and Erin Mullins of Yale.
The senior netminder stood tall in Brown's victories over Iona and Central Connecticut State this weekend, making five stops against the Gaels on Friday, before turning away 10 shots from CCSU on Sunday. Roddy ranks second in the Ivy League with a 6.18 goals-against average and third overall with a .550 save percentage.
The Co-Defensive Player of the Week recognition is the second of Roddy's career and Brown's first since she earned the honors on March 4, 2013.
Roddy and the Bears will welcome in #13 Penn to Stevenson Field on Saturday for the teams' Ivy League opener.
