NEW YORK – The No. 57 Brown men's tennis team grinded out a tough 4-3 decision over St. John's on Friday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The Bears improve to 11-2 this season, while the Red Storm drops to 4-6 overall with the loss.
After the Bears dropped the doubles point, key singles wins for Ivan Kravtchenko, Brandon Yeoh, and Peter Tarwid set the stage for Justin To's deciding match against Lucas Hejhal.
To suffered a 6-7 setback in the opening set before storming back to take the second, 6-3. The senior took control from there and scored a 6-4 victory in the final set to give the Bears their 11th win of the season.
Brown returns to action on March 24 for a Florida swing beginning at Stetson University.
