PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's soccer senior Charlotte Beach has earned First Team NEWISA All-New England honors, and junior Carly Gould and sophomore Maclaine Lehan have gained Second Team accolades, the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association announced on Friday.
A native of New Haven, Conn., Beach controlled play in the midfield for the Bears throughout the 2015 season, starting every game on the year for the second straight season. She concluded her career with 67 games played and 56 games started and posted a career-best 29 shots this past fall. Beach garnered Second Team All-Ivy honors, as well as a spot in the NEWISA Senior Bowl, this past season and Honorable Mention All-Ivy accolades in 2014.
In 2015, Gould (Hampton Falls, N.H.) earned First Team All-Ivy laurels and led the Bears in goals (seven), points (16), shots (42), and shots on goal (19) while adding two assists. She ranked in a tie for fifth in the league in both goals and points. She posted six goals in the Bears' last five games, including a career-high three goals against Marist on Oct. 12 and the game winner vs. Penn on Oct. 31 in the team's home finale.
Lehan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) appeared in and started 15 games this past fall as a center back, playing every minute in every game in which she took to the field. Over the past two seasons, she has tallied 32 games played and started, playing every minute of all 32 games. She collected Second Team All-Ivy honors as a freshman.
The trio helped the Bears finish the year with a three-game Ivy winning streak in the final season in the career of 39-year head coach Phil Pincince.
