NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Tim Whalen (Amston, Conn.) gave the Brown men's soccer team an early lead, but Yale netted the equalizer with 41 seconds left in regulation as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Saturday's Ivy League match-up at Reese Stadium.

Brown moved to 9-5-2 overall and 3-1-2 in the Ivy League, while Yale now stands at 1-13-2 on the season and 0-4-2 in the league.

Rookie Teo Norhagen (Stockholm, Sweden) posted a career-high seven saves to move to 4-0-1. Ryan Simpson had three saves for the Bulldogs.

Whalen notched his second goal of the season in the 6th minute. Rookie Jack Hagstrom (Middleton, Wis.) sent a cross into the box for a group of players, but Whalen came up with the shot past Simpson for the one-goal advantage. Sophomore Quinn English (Milwaukee, Wis.) also picked up an assist on the play.

Brown outshot the Bulldogs by a 9-3 margin in the opening 45 minutes.

Yale made the most of a final chance late in the contest as Phillip Piper headed in a long cross from Avery Schwartz at 89:19 to tie the score and force overtime.

The two teams had one shot on net apiece during the first overtime, but Norhagen preserved the tie for the Bears with a pair of saves in the final 10 minutes, stopping both Kyle Kenagy and Schwartz down the stretch.

Brown outshot Yale, 19-14, in the contest. Senior Jack Gorab (Newport Beach, Calif.) led the team with six shots.

The Bears will host Dartmouth in the regular season finale and Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Dartmouth secured the Ivy League title today with a 2-0 victory over Cornell to remain unbeaten (6-0) in the league.
