
Five Brown Football Student-Athletes Selected To CoSIDA Academic All-District I Football Team

Providence, R.I. – Five members of the Brown football team have been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I Football Team for excelling on the field and in the classroom as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Brown senior wide receiver Brian Strachan (Wellesley, MA), junior offensive tackle Dakota Girard (Wellfleet, MA), senior kicker Grant Senne (Winter Park, FL), senior cornerback Will Quigley (Marblehead, MA) and senior outside linebacker Quintin Rizek (Albuquerque, NM) have been named to the Academic All-District team, and their names will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.
For student-Athletes to be considered for Academic All-American they must have a minimum GPA of 3.30 and be a significant contributor to their team.
A Business Economics concentrator, Strachan ranks seventh nationally in receptions with 7.6 per game, and ranks ninth in career receptions at Brown with 142 catches. Girard, a Business Economics concentrator, is a two-year starter at right tackle and has helped Brown to rank as the nation's second-leading passing offense.
A three-year kicker/punter for the Bears, Senne is a Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations concentrator. He was named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after booting the game-winning field goal vs. Holy Cross. Quigley, a Business Economics concentrator, is a two-year starter, who has made 32 tackles and intercepted a pass for the Bears. Rizek, who is concentrating in Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations, ranks fourth on the Brown team with 40 tackles, including a career high 12 tackles vs. Cornell.
