
Equestrian Concludes Fall Season at Johnson & Wales Show

REHOBOTH, Mass. – Brown University equestrian finished in a tie for third, concluding its fall season at the Johnson & Wales University IHSA Show at the JWU Equine Center on Saturday.
In a point rider show – where each school can enter just one rider per division – originally scheduled for Oct. 3, the Bears remained in contention for the Zone 1 Region 1 title. Preliminary results put Brown in a tie for third with the University of Rhode Island with 25 points. The Bears entered the show second in the region with 200 points while the Rams led the region with 209 points.
Junior captain Kabisa Baughen (Sarasota, Fla.) placed third in open fences and fifth in open flat while sophomore Annaliese Fries (Kirkland, Wash.) came in fourth in intermediate fences, and sophomore Lily Hertling (Paris, France) did not place in novice fences.
Sophomore Victoria Flagg (Great Falls, Va.) pinned second in novice flat while senior captain Elena Buchsbaum (Madison, N.J.) finished fourth in intermediate flat. Sophomore Anna Seto (Barrington, R.I.) came in fourth in walk-trot-canter, and freshman Yinan Liu pinned second in walk-trot in her IHSA debut.
Next, Brown will resume its pursuit of an IHSA Zone 1 Region 1 title in the spring.
