Sam Donovan Named ECAC Player of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. – Brown women's hockey sophomore Sam Donovan (New Brighton, Minn.) was named ECAC Player of the Week after registering a hat trick in the Brown's lone game over the weekend, a 6-1 win over Sacred Heart, the conference announced on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Donovan's hat trick was Brown's first hat trick since January 24, 2012 and a career-high output for the center. Donovan scored the game's first goal and her second tally was Brown's first power-play goal of the season. Her third score was just before the end of contest, at 19:49 of the third. In the game, Donovan had a team-high +4 rating. So far this season, Donovan leads the Bears in goals (4) and points (5).

The Bears next embark on a seven-game road stretch, starting Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 with a series at RIT. Friday's game against the Tigers will start at 7:00 p.m. while the series finale on Saturday will begin at 3:00 p.m.
