BROWN WELCOMES SACRED HEART FOR NON-CONFERENCE GAME
The Bears close out their five-game home stand at Meehan Auditorium with a non-conference contest on Saturday, Nov. 14 versus Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m.
SCOUTING SACRED HEART
The Pioneers are 0-2-0 on the year as they compete independently. Both of Sacred Heart's games came against Holy Cross in a home-and-home series, with a 5-3 loss on Friday, Oct. 30 at Holy Cross and a 2-1 defeat on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Sacred Heart. Casey Stathopoulos, Hanna Skelley and Carly Radovich all have one goal and one assist on the season for two points apiece. In net, Amanda Fontaine has seen all of the team's action, posting a 3.06 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
BROWN AND SACRED HEART'S HISTORY
The Bears have outscored the Pioneers 25-1 in the three games they have competed it. No current player on Brown's roster has played Sacred Heart. The first two meetings of the series came at Meehan Auditorium, in a 5-1 win on Nov. 6, 2010, followed by a 10-0 blanking on Oct. 22, 2011. The final game was played at Sacred Heart on Dec. 7, 2011 and was the second-straight 10-0 win by Brown.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears fell in a pair of ECAC games, against Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 6, and No. 9/9 Harvard on Saturday, Nov. 7. Brown lost 4-0 to Dartmouth in the team's first game, and fell 5-1 to Harvard in the second game. Sophomore Sam Donovan registered her first goal of the season against Harvard, as freshman Bridget Carey picked up her first-career assist. Senior Alli Rolandelli also assisted on the goal. Sophomore Julianne Landry recorded a career-high 41 saves against the Crimson, with 16 saves coming in the third period.
NEXT UP
The Bears will embark on a seven-game road stand, starting Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 at RIT, and running until Jan. 2. The first game of the RIT series with begin at 7:00 p.m. while the second game on Saturday is set to start at 3:00 p.m.
CAREY SCORES FIRST-CAREER POINTS
Freshman forward Bridget Carey scored her first collegiate goal on Sunday, Oct. 24 at Maine. The goal was the games first goal and Brown's first tally of the season. The rookie also notched her first-career assists on Saturday, Nov. 7 against No. 9/9 Harvard, recording the primary helper.
LANDRY STOPS A CAREER-HIGH 41 SHOTS
Sophomore netminder Julianne Landry recorded a career-high 41 saves against No. 9/9 Harvard on Saturday, Nov. 7. Landry upped her saves in each period, starting with 11 in the opening stanza, to 12 in the second period and then 16 in the third. Her previous career-high was 38 versus Dartmouth on January 3, 2015 in her rookie campaign. The last Brown goalie to record 40 or more saves was junior Monica Elvin, who registered 47 saves at Yale in a 3-2 overtime win on January 23, 2015.
