
Women's Hockey Falls to Princeton, 3-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team was defeated by Princeton, 3-0, in an ECAC match-up on Saturday at Meehan Auditorium. The Bears now stand at 0-4-0 on the season and 0-2-0 in the ECAC while Princeton improves to 4-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the league.
Princeton scored two goals in the first period to claim a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Cassidy Tucker scored the first goal at 3:43 while Kelsey Koelzer recorded a power-play goal at 13:00. In the opening period, Brown held the edge in shots on goal, 6-5.
The second period saw a scoreless stance by both teams, with sophomore Julianne Landry (Hanover, Mass.) recording 12 saves to keep a clean slate in the period.
Princeton's Morgan Sly scored at 2:01 in the third to further seal the Tigers' victory and end the scoring for the game.
The Tigers held a 37-20 overall advantage in face-offs, with Brown freshman Cara Najjar (Stoneham, Mass.) winning 10 face-offs for Bears.
Landry registered a total of 25 saves in the game while Princeton's Alysia DaSilva turned away 16 shots.
The Bears will remain at home next weekend and host No. 10/10 Dartmouth and No. 7/8 Harvard on Friday (Nov. 6) and Saturday (Nov. 7), respectively. Friday's game against the Big Green will begin at 7:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest against the Crimson will start at 4:00 p.m.
