
Field Hockey Closes Out Home Slate Against Penn and Lehigh

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown field hockey team will close out the 2015 home slate with contests against Penn and Lehigh on Saturday, Oct.31 and Sunday, Nov. 1, respectively, at Goldberger Field. Both games will begin at noon. Sunday's non-conference game will be Brown's Senior Day where seniors Anna Masini (Ann Arbor, Mich.), Emily Arciero (Avon, Conn.), Alexis Miller (Caldwell, N.J.), Hannah Rogers (Los Altos, Calif.) and student manager Cally Moran will be honored in a pregame ceremony.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior Alexis Miller scored at 28:43 in the first half to tie the game at Cornell, 1-1, going into halftime. The Big Red came out surging in the second half and tacked on five goals en route to their 6-1 win on Saturday, Oct. 24
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
Penn enters the contest with a 12-2 overall record and a 4-1 mark in Ivy League competition. The Quakers' conference wins have come against Cornell (3-2 OT), Harvard (2-1 OT), Dartmouth (3-2 2OT) and Yale (4-2). Penn's lone conference loss came against Columbia, 2-1, in double overtime. Sophomore Alexa Hoover leads Penn and the nation in goals per game, averaging 1.93 (27 overall). In goal, sophomore Liz Mata posts a 2.19 goals against average.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
Lehigh will come to College Hill after playing Holy Cross in a conference tilt on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:00 a.m. Entering the weekend the Mountain Hawks have a 4-12 record and are 1-4 in the Patriot League. Freshman Teresa Carotenuto leads the team in goals (9) and points (18). Junior Julia Ward has seen 1080:34 minutes in net and has recorded a 3.11 goals against average.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
The Bears have posted a 5-3 record at Goldberger Field this year and hold a slight 17-16 edge over their opponents in goals scored.

Freshman Maddie Ayles (Westwood, Mass.) is currently tied for third in the Ivy League in defensive saves with three on the season. Teammate, junior Katarina Angus (West Vancouver, British Columbia) also ranks on the list, tied for sixth with two defensive saves.
HAMMAKER RANKS IN THE IVY LEAGUE FOR SAVES
Freshman Katie Hammaker (Ephrata, Pa.) ranks third in both saves (80) and saves per game (5.71) in the conference. The rookie has started all 14 games for Brown and has registered a 2.75 goals against average.
