On Saturday, the Bears grabbed 16-11 and 12-6 triumphs over Iona and Fordham respectively. Against Iona, Henry Fox (Mercer Island, Wash.) and Yahel Murvitz-Lahav (Tel-Aviv, Israel) each paced Brown with hat tricks, while Nick Deaver (Orinda, Calif.), Matty Gallas (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), Luke Irwin (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), and Will Klein (Pasadena, Calif.) each deposited a pair of goals each.
A 5-1 advantage in the third quarter spelled the difference, while goaltender Luke Weiser (Los Alamitos, Calif.) made four saves in the win.
Led by Fox, Irwin, and Gallas' two goals each, the Bears claimed a 12-6 victory over Fordham in game two on Saturday. Once again a 5-1 advantage, this time in the second quarter, proved to be the difference. Senior goalkeeper Andrew Brown (Western Springs, Ill.) turned away three Rams shots in the win.
On Sunday, the Bears took on the Terriers of St. Francis and concluded the weekend with a hard-fought 10-6 decision led by Murvitz-Lahav's second hat trick in as many days. Fox added a pair, while Deaver, Gallas, Irwin, Klein, and Jake Wyatt (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) chipped in with a goal each. Leading 6-5 entering the fourth quarter, a four-goal outburst in the final stanza gave the Bears a four-goal cushion they would not relinquish. Weiser backstopped the Bears with eight pivotal saves in the final contest on Sunday.
Brown returns to action next Sunday for a doubleheader against MIT and Harvard beginning at 2 p.m.
